Washington, D.C. (RFD News) — Wildland firefighting depends on teamwork, and the U.S. Forest Service says bulldozers are among the most important tools used on the fire line.
Officials say dozers help crews create access routes and work in conditions that may be too dangerous for firefighters on foot.
Last year, the U.S. Forest Service spent about $2.2 billion on wildfire suppression, with heavy machinery accounting for just over $1 billion.
