PARIS, France (RFD News) — France has lowered its bird flu alert to the lowest possible level following a steady decline in cases across the country.
According to France’s Agriculture Ministry, the risk level has been reduced from moderate to negligible, ending nationwide requirements that included keeping poultry indoors.
While the nationwide restrictions have been lifted, authorities retain the ability to impose localized measures if conditions warrant additional precautions.
Bird flu cases typically rise during the fall migration season and decline in the spring. France had previously lowered its alert level from high to moderate before announcing the latest reduction.
