Machinist to Mushrooms: Let’s meet a Texas farmer who is utilizing all the benefits of mushrooms

There are some 10,000 varieties of mushrooms grown in Texas, and one mushroom farmer is not only growing this delicacy for restaurants, he is turning the waste product into fertilizer.

Tammi Arender got the chance to visit and see this unique segment of Texas agriculture.

For more on mushroom farming, watch Texas Agriculture Matters Tuesday nights at 7 PM Eastern.

Tammi was raised on a cotton and soybean farm in Tallulah, Louisiana. In 1981, she became a TV news anchor and reporter at KNOE-TV in Monroe, Louisiana. She is also an anchor/reporter for RFD-TV and Rural Radio Channel 147 on Sirius XM at their Nashville news studio, where Tammi currently resides.
