Pennsylvania awards HPAI-impacted farmers with $25 million

Pennsylvania is boosting its State Emergency Preparedness Fund, and much of the new money is going to help operations impacted by Avian Influenza.

The state’s poultry industry is now getting $25 million to give to farmers unable to get new flocks due to their location in a controlled zone. HPAI infected 4.2 million birds on 17 farmers in the state. They increased their overall ag spending by 30 percent.
