Rural Health Matters: Parkinson’s Disease

OHMAHA, Neb. (RFD NEWS) — April marks the start of Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month, a time to focus on prevalence in rural communities and the steps residents can take to address the disease.

University of Nebraska President, Dr. Jeffrey Gold, joined us for this week’s Rural Health Matters to discuss Parkinson’s disease and its impact on local populations.

In his interview with RFD NEWS, Dr. Gold addressed whether rural communities experience higher rates of Parkinson’s, explained what the disease is, and outlined key signs people should watch for. He also provided guidance for those diagnosed with Parkinson’s, including resources and next steps for managing the condition.
