Planting season has been full speed ahead for weeks now, but there have been some hurdles along the way.
For Illinois farmers still trying to get corn in the ground, they are now in the late planting window.
A crop insurance specialist says that corn can still be planted in the state after June 5th, but each day reduces insurance by 1%.
The later planting window runs for 20 days, but farmers can still look at a prevent plant claim.
Other options include planting a cover crop or grazing the field. Switching to soybeans is also an option, which other producers have found to be profitable.
