NORMAN PARK, Ga. (RFD News) — Southern Valley Fruit and Vegetable has built its operation around changing seasons and climates, growing crops to help supply fresh vegetables year-round.
President Kent Hamilton and his daughter, Courtney Hamilton Griffin, help lead the family operation as it works to manage extreme heat, hurricanes and other weather challenges that can affect crop production.
The Hamilton’s said worker safety remains a priority, with field crews often starting before sunrise or shifting work later in the day to avoid dangerous heat.
