Stock Show Spotlight: Austin Exhibitor Laynee Matchett Brings Passion to the Texas Show Circuit

Rodeo Austin exhibitor reflects on years of showing and the routines that get her ready for the ring.

AUSTIN, TEXAS (RFD NEWS) — For many young exhibitors, getting to Rodeo Austin is the result of months on the road and years of hard work in the Texas show circuit. RFD Network’s Kirbe Schnoor caught up with exhibitor Laynee Matchett as she wrapped up her run.

Matchett says her passion for showing cattle started at a young age and has only grown over time.

“I’m showing heifers. We brought our whole string with us,” Matchett said. “I’ve been showing ever since I was little. I started with steers and just fell in love with it.”

Along with the work in the barn, Matchett has developed her own routine to prepare for the competition. She says getting ready for the show is part of the fun. Before a big stock show, Matchett says she kikes to play music, get her hair done, and put on a bright shirt before stepping into the ring.
