Stock Show Spotlight: Kaesee Brune Finds Success With the Toughest Cattle

Rodeo Austin exhibitor reflects on years of experience and the bond formed through training difficult cattle

AUSTIN, TEXAS (RFD News) — At the Rodeo Austin Live Stock Show, some exhibitors are closing out their show season with one final trip to the ring.

For Kaesee Brune, that journey began early, starting with bucket calves and growing into years of experience shaped by patience and persistence.

Brune says his family played a key role in getting him started and supporting him along the way.

“I started showing cattle when I was three or four years old, doing bucket calves,” Brune said. “I had a lot of help from my aunts getting me started on showing cattle and just pushing me every step of the way to get here.”

Over time, that experience has helped Bruce develop a skill for halter-breaking cattle, something he finds incredibly rewarding.

“I don’t know why, but the crazy ones are always the better ones for me,” he said. “Once I finally get them halter-broke, they’re just fun, and they become my best showmanship heifers and just my all-around best heifers.”
