Stock Show Spotlight: Austin Exhibitor Kash Morrison Balances School and Show Ring

Rodeo Austin exhibitor Kash Morrison reflects on how FFA taught him the importance of hard work and time management while competing in livestock shows during the school year.

AUSTIN, TEXAS (RFD News) — For many young livestock exhibitors, showing animals is part of a busy year competing in events across Texas. For Rodeo Austin exhibitor Kash Morrison, that means balancing time in the ring with responsibilities in the classroom.

In his interview with RFD-TV, Morrison spoke about how he manages his time as a student while pursuing a career in agriculture and competing in livestock shows.

“I’m in FFA, so I’m on the road doing that,” Morrison said. “It’s a lot of fun, but you have to manage your schoolwork and keep your grades up so you can come out here and do these things.”

Morrison’s connection to showing runs deep. He comes from a family involved in livestock, and says he’s been competing since he was young.

“I got into showing when I was eight, and I’ve been doing it ever since,” he said. “My mom did it when she was young, and my dad showed goats.”

Now, with years of experience behind him, Morrison encourages others to get involved, even if they are unsure.

“Just work hard, don’t ever give up at it, and prove people wrong with what you’re doing,” he said.
