AUSTIN, TEXAS (RFD News) — Rodeo Austin’s Livestock Show marks an important milestone for many exhibitors, especially those in their final year on the show circuit.
RFD Network’s Kirbe Schnoor caught up with senior exhibitor Atlee Homann to talk about the years of dedication that led him to this point.
Homann says livestock shows have helped shape his work ethic and given him a sense of purpose from a young age.
“A constant goal is a really nice reminder to have through life, especially as a kid,” Homann said. “It’s always good to have something to push towards. Some of my favorite memories of Rodeo Austin this year are certainly towards the top.”
This year, that dedication paid off. Homann made his first sale at Rodeo Austin after years of competing.
“I’ve shown pigs three years, and this is probably my seventh calf that I’ve shown at Rodeo Austin,” he said. “It’s the first time I’ve ever made the sale here. It’s a culmination of a lot of effort over a lot of years.”
