Survey says! Why USDA is sending out another survey

The National Agricultural Statistics Service explains the purpose of USDA’s ARMS.

Phase three of the Agricultural Resource Management Survey, or ARMS, is currently underway.

USDA says it’s similar to the census of agriculture.

“The Agriculture Resource Management Survey is very similar,” explains NASS Southern Plains director Wil Hundl. “It measures the economic well-being, what types of practices that we use in the ARMS data, what type of economic impact that they’re having or struggles that they’re having.”

USDA says that information will be used to help producers.

“The Economic Research Service within USDA is one of our major collaborators on this project,” explains Hundl. “They use that information to help do our outlook forums for their various commodities that we survey each year.”

The deadline to complete phase three of the survey is April 20th.
