Taco Bell is adding plant-based meat to their menu

Taco Bell announced it will tap into the plant-based meat market.

The “crispy melt taco” took three years to create and will cost below $3. The company says it wanted to get the taste and consistency right so customers could not tell the difference between the plant-based and animal-based offerings.

Taco Bell says it is testing its new menu item in the market around Birmingham, Alabama.
