Tennessee Family Farm Ships Tomatoes Nationwide

Jones & Church Farms ships fresh market tomatoes across the country while employing more than 200 seasonal workers.

UNICOI, Tenn. (RFD News) — Four generations of the Jones family are continuing a tradition of growing fresh market tomatoes in East Tennessee.

Jones & Church Farms grows tomatoes on about 600 acres across five counties, shipping nearly one million 25 pound boxes across the country each year.

Founded in 1975, the operation employs more than 200 seasonal workers and says quality and food safety remain top priorities.

The family says farming is about more than producing tomatoes. It’s about caring for the land and leaving a legacy for the next generation.
