Congress has introduced a bipartisan bill to boost the nation’s egg supply.
The Lowering Egg Prices Act urges the FDA to modify a policy that forces farmers to discard some 400 million eggs every year.
Congressman Dusty Johnson is co-leading the legislation and he spoke with RFD-TV’s Tammi Arender on the impact to the broiler industry, how the industry is coping with prices, and USDA’s HPAI strategy.
“From our analysis and from what we’ve been seeing, we think, largely on ransomware, the food and ag industry is a target of opportunity.”
