LINCOLN, Neb. (RFD News) — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is developing tools to help farmers and ranchers navigate challenges and build more resilient operations.
Dan Uden with the Center for Resilience in Agricultural Working Landscapes joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report to discuss how the center is turning research into practical tools for producers.
In his conversation with RFD News, Uden said technology can help producers determine not only how to manage their land, but where and when certain practices are needed. Satellite imagery and mapping tools can help with decisions ranging from recovering land after drought or wildfire to managing changes in vegetation.
Uden said the center keeps its research focused on information producers need and can put into practice. Looking ahead, he sees collaboration across the university as an important part of developing new ways to strengthen agricultural resilience.
