More ag groups are praising the U.S. Trade Representative’s move to hold Canada responsible for USMCA violations.

Katherine Tai is challenging Canada’s revised tariff rate quota allocation measures. She says the market-share approach prohibits importers from using the allocations, which undermines market access Canada agreed to in USMCA.

The second dispute panel will deliver a report later this year. If it finds Canada in violation, the U.S. would be allowed to impose retaliatory duties.
