Wine Glass Ranch Blends Tradition with Holistic Stewardship in Nebraska

The fifth-generation operation is managing land and cattle with a long-term focus.

IMPERIAL, NEB. (RFD NEWS) — It’s Farm Family Friday during National Beef Month, and one Nebraska family is continuing a 140-year legacy in grain and cattle ranching.

At Wine Glass Ranch near the Colorado border, the Pribbeno family runs a fifth-generation operation that focuses on both profitability and stewardship.

The ranch manages roughly 30,000 acres of rangeland and cropland, using practices like high-intensity rotational grazing and no-till farming. Their approach also includes cover crops and a focus on how land management impacts cattle performance over time.

President and operations manager Logan Pribbeno says they view the operation as one system.

“In order to protect our land, we use a holistic thinking and systems approach. We like to think of this operation as a whole. We’re bit unique in that we use our cow herd on farmland extensively. So we like to look at our farming system and our ranch system as one together.”

The operation has also been recognized for its work, earning the 2025 regional Environmental Stewardship Award.
