Justin Wilson’s Cajun Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 1/4 cups of buttermilk

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees. Sift the dry ingredients together. Blend in the shortening and buttermilk and mix well.
  2. Roll the biscuit dough out on waxed paper covered with flour. Cut out biscuits with a biscuit cutter, pinch them off, and place them in a greased pan.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
