ST. LOUIS, Mo. (RFD News) — Anheuser-Busch is awarding more than $200,000 to support research and innovation in the rice industry as part of National Rice Month.
Chief Procurement Officer Damola Oshin joined us on Wednesday’s Market Day Report to discuss the effort.
In his conversation with RFD News, Oshin said the grants will support research to strengthen crop resilience. The University of Arkansas is among the recipients, with projects focused on rice quality and brewing applications.
Anheuser-Busch works with more than 80 Arkansas rice growers and 700 farmers nationwide. Oshin said the company has supported many of those growers for generations.
The company’s “Choose Beer Grown Here” campaign will also bring its Corn Bar to Arkansas in November.
Researchers found hearing loss was more common among farmworkers studied than the national rate.
