Farm to White House: Easter Egg Roll Tradition Continues in Washington with Help from North Carolina Farm

North Carolina Farmer Trey Braswell joined us to discuss the White House Easter Egg Roll, his company’s continued involvement, and efforts to expand access to eggs nationwide.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (RFD NEWS) — A longstanding White House tradition continues this year, as children from across the country prepare to take part in the annual Easter Egg Roll, a tradition dating back to at least 1878.

Trey Braswell of Braswell Family Farms joined us on Thursday’s Market Day Report ahead of the big Easter celebration on Monday to discuss his company’s role in supplying eggs for the event for the fifth consecutive year.

In his conversation with RFD NEWS, Braswell reflected on his first-time involvement in the event and shared highlights from his years supplying eggs to the White House. He also discussed the process of getting eggs from the farm to Washington for the event.

Braswell spoke about a recent visit to the farm ahead of the shipment and whether he plans to attend the event in person. He also addressed a separate announcement from the American Egg Board about a major donation to support the incorporation of eggs into school meals and shared his thoughts on the collaboration.
