BLACKSBURG, VIRGINIA (RFD NEWS) — A state organization rooted in agricultural education is celebrating a major milestone this year, marking 100 years since its founding in Virginia.
Virginia FFA was established in 1925 at Virginia Tech to create opportunities for students in agriculture. Former student advisor and school administrator Brad Bryant says the organization’s core values have stood the test of time.
“It’s amazing that you can look at the FFA Creed and see that it’s 95 years old and that it still holds true today,” Bryant said. “Those are the things that we really work towards.”
Virginia FFA State President Grayson Long says she hopes the organization continues to grow and inspire future generations.
“For the next 100 years, I hope the FAA will continue to flourish just as it has throughout its previous time of being an organization,” Long continued, “And that it will also continue to provide opportunities for youth involved in agriculture, and spread the wonderful word of agriculture with everyone that comes in contact with it.”
The milestone will be celebrated this summer at the 100th State FFA Convention, June 8 through 11 in Blacksburg at Virginia Tech.
