The agricultural world is eagerly anticipating the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture’s (USDA) September Crop Production Forecast, which is set to be released next week. This harvesting forecast heavily relies on insights gleaned directly from farmers.

“As we’ve passed through crucial developmental stages, including rain-dependent phases, any weather impacts between August and September can have a substantial impact,” said Lance Honig with the National Ag Statistics Service, shedding light on the significance of this upcoming report. “Therefore, obtaining an updated assessment of the crops following this period is always of utmost importance.”

USDA National Agricultural Statistics Survey gathers the data for this forecast, engaging with 7,000 producers and inspecting around 3,000 fields.
