WASHINGTON, D.C. (RFD News) — The dairy industry continues exploring how artificial intelligence could play a larger role both on the farm and in consumer outreach.
Alan Bjerga with the National Milk Producers Federation joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report for a closer look at how AI is beginning to shape different parts of the dairy industry.
In his conversation with RFD News, Bjerga discussed how producers are using technology to improve precision, transparency, and efficiency in dairy operations. He also talked about how AI could ultimately improve farm-level returns and how the technology may continue to expand both inside and outside the barn.
Finally, Bjerga addressed how AI is being used in areas related to feed efficiency, production output, and direct-to-consumer communication.
Before wrapping up, the conversation also turned toward the upcoming six-year review of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and what role dairy could play in those trade discussions.
