Louisiana Greenhouse Provides Local Schools with Fresh Produce

Richland Parish Produce supplies fresh vegetables to school cafeterias and local restaurants.

RAYVILLE, LA (This Week in Louisiana Agriculture) — A greenhouse in Louisiana has grown into a major source of fresh produce for students across the district.

Greenhouse manager Rory Gresham with Richland Parrish Produce says over half of the produce grown goes to school cafeterias, with the rest sold to local restaurants and community members.

Gresham hopes the program inspires more schools to adopt similar greenhouse operations.
