LEBANON, Tenn. (RFD News) — Wilson County Master Gardeners are celebrating America’s 250th anniversary by planting red, white and blue flower displays at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds ahead of this year’s state fair.
Visitors will find the patriotic displays near the fair office, in Fiddler’s Grove and at the Stratton Bone Made in Tennessee Building.
Beyond maintaining public gardens, UT Extension Master Gardeners teach research-based gardening practices, promote native plants and donate locally grown produce to nonprofits throughout Wilson County.
Tennessee is home to one of the nation’s largest Extension Master Gardener programs, with more than 2,500 volunteers serving about half of the state’s counties.
Opening day for the Wilson County/Tennessee State Fair is Aug. 13.
