SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (RFD NEWS) — Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to slow down, fire up the grill, and enjoy some great food and entertainment. RFD-TV is celebrating with a lineup packed with cooking, country music, and stories from across rural America.
The day begins with a Twisted Skillet marathon, giving viewers the chance to spend the morning with Chef Sean as he travels across Texas, discovers the stories and flavors behind local restaurants, and brings those culinary inspirations back to the ranch for his own cowboy-inspired twists.
Starting at 8:30 a.m. ET, Sean kicks things off with a visit to The Hayden, where he learns about a classic Jewish dish before creating his own Chicken Fried Steak and Latkes.
At 9 a.m. ET, he visits Hot Joy to explore bold Asian flavors, then puts a Texas spin on the cuisine with Brisket Fried Rice.
The culinary journey continues at 9:30 a.m. ET with a trip to San Antonio’s legendary Mi Tierra and Sean’s take on Chilaquiles.
At 10 a.m. ET, Sean learns the art of baklava at Baklovah Bakery & Sweets before returning to the ranch to create his own Pecan Baklava.
Then, at 10:30 a.m. ET, a visit to Escondido inspires a Barbacoa Croquette, followed by a stop at Tender Fire Kitchen at 11 a.m. ET for a wood-fired lesson that leads to Sean’s own Wood Fire Margherita Pizza.
The morning continues with Fried Pork Chop Tacos with Sweet Apple Slaw at noon, an Albondigas Chipotle Torta at 12:30 p.m., Jerk Chicken Street Tacos at 1 p.m., and a Poblano Pepper Burger at 1:30 p.m.
At 2 p.m. ET, Sean heads to El Rey for Queso Flameado and a cocktail, before visiting Ray’s Drive Inn at 2:30 p.m. for a Texas classic: Puffy Tacos with Picadillo.
The Twisted Skillet marathon wraps up at 3 p.m. ET with a visit to Market Steer and a show-stopping Tomahawk Steak with Bone Marrow Butter.

At 3 p.m. ET, Ag PhD Daily brings viewers the latest information farmers need to maximize yields and profits, with live discussions featuring industry experts and farmers from across the country.
