LINCOLN, Neb. (RFD News) — As Fourth of July celebrations get underway, health experts are reminding families to keep safety top of mind.
University of Nebraska President Dr. Jeffrey Gold joined us Wednesday’s Rural Health Matters to discuss the biggest holiday hazards, including fireworks, food safety, extreme heat and water activities.
Gold says fireworks remain a leading cause of holiday injuries, while improperly handled food and high temperatures can also send people to the emergency room.
He encourages families to take practical precautions, supervise children closely and leave fireworks displays to the professionals.
