Stock Show Spotlight: Camdyn Neuman Finds His Path in the Ring

Exhibitor Camdyn Neuman reflects on family and the life lessons learned through showing cattle at the Rodeo Houston Livestock Show.

HOUSTON, Texas (RFD News) — The Houston Stock Show continues to bring young exhibitors into the world of livestock, offering hands-on experience in agriculture and responsibility. For competitor Camdyn Neuman, that journey started close to home.

Neuman says he first became interested in showing cattle by watching his older brother compete, eventually following in his footsteps.

“My brother always showed, and then in his senior year he decided to show a steer, and I fell in love with it then,” Neuman said. “Once I was old enough, I’ve shown steers ever since then. That was about five years ago.”

Now, years into showing, Neuman says the experience has taught him lessons he couldn’t find anywhere else.

“You learn so much about the cattle industry, and how to feed an animal and take care of it,” he said. “It’s really a great thing to learn for life.”

The Houston Livestock Show continues to impact thousands of young people across Texas, combining education and Western heritage.
