UNL Prepares Student-Athletes for Success in and Out of the Arena

Head Coach Wyatt Clark discusses growing interest in collegiate rodeo, investments in the program and Nebraska’s role in hosting the 2026 National High School Finals Rodeo.

LINCOLN, Neb. (RFD News) — Interest in collegiate rodeo continues to grow in Nebraska, with more student-athletes pursuing the opportunity to compete while earning a college degree.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Rodeo Team Head Coach Wyatt Clark joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report to discuss how the university is preparing students for success in and out of the arena.

In his conversation with RFD News, Clark said collegiate rodeo teaches students how to balance academics, competition and responsibilities at home while developing skills they can carry into future careers.

He also discussed continued investments in the university’s rodeo program, saying improved facilities will help provide a safe and consistent environment for student-athletes and their animals.

Clark also highlighted Nebraska’s upcoming role as host of the 2026 National High School Finals Rodeo, saying the event will give the state an opportunity to showcase its western heritage while welcoming young rodeo athletes from across the country.
