National Milk Producer Federation reacts to USDA’s new HPAI management plans

The U.S. dairy industry is reacting positively to USDA’s new HPAI plans.

National Milk Producers Federation President and CEO Greg Doud shared this statement:

“Dairy farmers and cooperatives appreciate USDA’s leadership in supporting American agriculture and safeguarding animal health... Dairy farmers and all of agriculture take biosecurity seriously, and we’re thankful for these actions that will further those efforts.”

The International Dairy Foods Association also applauded the efforts and was especially grateful for the $100 million investment into research on potential HPAI vaccines. The organization’s President and CEO Dr. Michael Dykes is urging the agency to quickly develop and approve effective and safe bovine vaccines to guard cattle against the disease.
