Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Sid Miller has announced that Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. in Farwell, Texas had a positive test for the High Path Avian Flu (also known as H5N1) virus today.
The Texas Department of Agriculture shared the news on Twitter.
Commissioner Miller confirmed the Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. has received official notice of a positive test for H1N5. Cal-Maine will be required to depopulate 1.6 million laying hens and 337,000 pullets at their Farwell facility.
