Dairy Month Spotlight: McCarty Family Grows Dairy Legacy Across Two States

From Kansas to Ohio, the McCarty family continues investing in sustainability, innovation and consumer education.

REXFORD, KS (RFD News) — The McCarty family has spent decades growing its dairy operation while focusing on sustainability and innovation in the industry.

After relocating from Pennsylvania to northwest Kansas in 1999, the family built a dairy that now milks about 2,000 cows. The operation also includes an on-site milk condensing plant that reduces transportation needs and helps conserve water.

As the business grew, the McCartys expanded into Ohio, where they partnered with VanTilburg Farms to create MVP Dairy. The operation milks about 3,800 cows and features a learning center designed to give visitors a closer look at modern dairy farming.

The family says the goal is to show consumers how today’s dairy farms care for their animals while producing food in a sustainable way.
