The House is set to take up the HEROES Act once again. It is a $2 trillion scaled-down version of the bill that was proposed over the summer.
Michael Dykes, the president and CEO of the International Dairy Foods Association, spoke with RFD-TV News on how this benefits dairy producers compared to the earlier version and how it will help producers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re optimistic. What does it mean for dairy? We think it makes some improvements to the Dairy Margin Coverage for the dairy producers,” he said. “It reduces the premiums by about 15 percent if they sign up under the new provisions.”
