SANTA MARIA, Calif. (RFD News) — California growers continue finding new ways to meet demand for strawberries both at home and abroad.
At DB Specialty Farms, Darren Gee and his family continue producing strawberries while working to meet consumer demand.
Gee has also partnered with University of California plant breeder Doug Shaw to help develop new strawberry varieties, a process that takes years from breeding to commercial production.
After harvest, strawberries are quickly cooled, packaged, and shipped to markets across North America and overseas.
