ASHBURN, Ga. (Farm Monitor) — Freshness is everything during summer produce season, and at Calhoun Produce, Sheila Rice and her family are getting butter beans and field peas from the field to customers in a matter of hours.
Rice said the produce is harvested, shelled and bagged the same day, giving customers some of the freshest beans and peas available.
The family said support from generations of loyal customers has helped Calhoun Produce continue to grow for more than 40 years.
