WAYNESBORO, Ga. (Farm Monitor) — Brothers Robert and Sid Prescott say this year’s growing season has been a daily test as weather extremes continue challenging their family operation.
Idlewood Farms, an 850-acre Bermuda grass and beef cattle operation, has gone from extremely dry conditions to excessive rainfall, affecting both hay quality and cutting schedules.
The Prescotts said rising input costs have added more pressure, squeezing margins on hay prices that have remained largely unchanged.
Despite the challenges, they remain committed to producing quality forage and serving their customers.
