HPAI spreads in Midwest

High path avian flu was detected in more commercial flocks over the weekend.

The first was in a commercial pullet flock in Iowa. The Hawkeye State is the largest poultry producer and this is the sixth detection there so far this month.

The second confirmation was in two flocks in Minnesota, including a commercial farm with nearly 300,000 birds. The other was in a backyard flock of chickens, ducks, and geese. These are the first two cases in Minnesota since the 2015 outbreak that killed its entire flock.
