Illinois FFA’s First-Ever State Sentinel Reflects on Historic Year in New Position

Page Sierens says the new position will help Illinois FFA connect with and serve more members across the state.

Springfield, Ill. (RFD News) — The 98th Illinois FFA State Convention marked a historic milestone for the organization as Paige Sierens reflected on her year as Illinois FFA’s first State Sentinel.

The new officer position was approved by student delegates during last year’s state convention, expanding Illinois FFA’s major state officer team from five to six members.

Sierens says serving as the organization’s first State Sentinel has been an honor, but the role is about more than making history. She hopes the additional officer position will allow Illinois FFA to connect with and serve even more members across the state.

With about 43,000 members statewide, Illinois FFA leaders say the new position will help the officer team better support local chapters.
