AMES, Iowa (RFD News) — The National Science Foundation has awarded Iowa State University $15 million to support research aimed at turning more U.S. agricultural products into higher-value goods.
The biomanufacturing project will explore new ways to convert agricultural biogases into products including coatings, medicines, animal vaccines and crop protection tools.
Researchers say the investment could create new markets for farmers while supporting rural economies and manufacturing jobs.
