Ground Beef, salsa, and cheese dip meet in the skillet for a family favorite recipe. Try this Nacho Beef Dip with tortilla chips or veggie strips!

SERVINGS: 12
PREP TIME: 10 minutes
COOK TIME: 15 minutes
TOTAL TIME: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of lean ground beef (at least 93%)
  • 1 16oz. jar of salsa con queso (cheese dip with salsa)
  • 1/2 cup mild or medium chunky salsa

Instructions

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add the beef and cook for 8-10 minutes, breaking it into crumbles and stirring occasionally.
  2. Turn the heat down to medium-low, and add the cheese dip and salsa. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring often to prevent burning, until the mixture is hot.
Cook’s Tip: To keep your dip smooth and creamy, avoid high heat and slowly add the cheese while maintaining a low and steady temperature. Cheese dip begins to separate—or “split"—once it reaches about 160°F (71°C). At this temperature, the proteins in the cheese start to break down, causing the fat to separate from the moisture.
