Montana Producers Gather for Farmers Union Annual Convention

President Walter Schweitzer says listening to farmers and ranchers will be key moving forward.

BOZEMAN, Mont. (RFD-TV) — Agriculture’s biggest challenges were front and center at the recent Montana Farmers Union annual convention.

Western Ag Network’s Russell Nemetz spoke with organization President Walter Schweitzer during the event.

Schweitzer pointed to rising production costs and uncertainty surrounding farm policy. He says the annual convention gives members a chance to help shape the organization’s priorities for the coming year.

Despite the challenges, Schweitzer says he is encouraged by the younger generation becoming involved and believes listening to producer concerns will be key to future success.
