WHITMAN, Neb. (RFD News) — With many cattle producers managing drought and changing range conditions, the University of Nebraska is highlighting research designed to help ranchers make practical management decisions.
The Sandhills Laboratory is a more than 13,000-acre ranch where researchers study issues affecting cattle operations. Organizers say this year’s program will focus on drought, wildfire recovery and other challenges producers are facing across the region.
The event also gives producers an opportunity to hear the latest research and discuss how it can be applied on working ranches.
Organizers say the research conducted at the Sandhills Laboratory is designed to benefit cattle producers well beyond Nebraska.
