UGA Researchers Develop New System for Spray Drones

The Drone Dock could make chemical preparation faster and easier for farmers.

TIFTON, Ga. (Farm Monitor) A team at the University of Georgia is developing new equipment that could make using spray drones easier for farmers.

The Drone Dock measures, mixes and delivers chemicals directly to the drone. Preliminary research found the process is 10 times faster than preparing and delivering the chemicals by hand.

Researchers say spray drones could also help when ground sprayers cannot get into fields after heavy rain and with targeted applications like spot spraying.
