WASHINGTON, D.C. (RFD NEWS) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is offering financial assistance to growers seeking organic certification through a cost-sharing program designed to help offset certification expenses.
USDA Under Secretary for Farm Production Richard Fordyce says producers can apply for reimbursement by bringing certification invoices or receipts to their local Farm Service Agency office. The program covers certification costs for the 2025 and 2026 crop years.
Fordyce says producers who have already paid for certification can submit documentation through their local FSA office to apply for reimbursement.
USDA will cover up to 75 percent of organic certification costs through the program. Fordyce adds that growers may also have additional opportunities for support through state-level programs.
