FarmTech: Soy-Based Baby Wipes Win Purdue Competition

The Student Soybean Innovation Competition challenges Purdue students to develop products that could create new demand for soybeans.

West Lafayette, Ind. (RFD News) — Finding new markets for soybeans is just as important as growing them, and students at Purdue University are helping make that happen.

The university’s Student Soybean Innovation Competition challenges students to develop new soy-based products that could expand demand for America’s second-largest crop.

Organizers say the competition has already helped launch several products now on the market, including soy candles and soy crayons.

This year’s winning team developed soy-based baby wipes, with hopes the product could eventually reach consumers.
