LINCOLN, Neb. (RFD News) — The fall semester is underway at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) as the school prepares the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Dr. Tom Burkey, a professor of animal science and UNL’s Interim Dean for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report to discuss UNL’s agricultural education programs, which recently ranked in the top nine percent of such programs worldwide and moved up in the ranks to 40th globally.
In his conversation with RFD News, Dr. Burkey said the ranking reflects the strength of UNL’s students and faculty. He described Nebraska as a “living laboratory” that gives students hands-on learning opportunities.
Burkey also emphasized the relationships students build with faculty and agribusiness throughout their education.
