WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Real Virginia) — Growing lavender is just the beginning at Sweet Haven Lavender.
Owner Kerry Messer said the family farm has expanded beyond the field by creating products made with lavender grown and distilled on the farm.
One of the farm’s biggest successes has been its natural insect repellent, which Messer said was developed out of necessity while working outdoors.
Today, Sweet Haven Lavender products are sold at the farm and in select Virginia retailers.
Messer said partnering with businesses that support locally grown products has helped expand the farm’s reach while staying true to its mission.
