Texas A&M Short Course Gives Ranchers Practical Guidance

Linda Jordens Galayda said the program gave her the confidence and practical knowledge to improve her family’s ranch after taking over the operation

ELKHART, Texas (RFD News) — When Linda Jordens Galayda took over her family’s ranch, she turned to the Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course to help strengthen the operation.

After her father’s death, Galayda said she was suddenly the one making the decisions. The short course gave her practical information she could use on the ranch including how to improve pasture conditions and cattle performance.

The 72nd annual Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course is scheduled for Aug. 3-5 in Bryan-College Station.

Organizers expect nearly 2,000 producers to attend sessions covering topics ranging from herd rebuilding to New World screwworm.
