INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (RFD News) — The National FFA Organization has announced the 16 finalists for its 2026 American Star Awards, recognizing some of the country’s top FFA members for their achievements in agriculture.

The finalists include four students in each of the American Star Farmer, American Star in Agribusiness, American Star in Agricultural Placement and American Star in Agriscience categories. Winners will be announced during the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo this fall in Indianapolis.

The organization also recently hosted hosted its Next Gen Conference in Chicago, giving members a hands-on look at careers in agribusiness.

Ashli Weinrich with the National FFA joined us on Monday’s FFA Today to discuss the conference and its goal of helping students explore career opportunities beyond the farm gate.

Weinrich said only 75 members are selected through a competitive application process, adding that the conference is designed to help students discover where they fit within the agricultural industry while building valuable professional connections.
